Silas Ramsbottom is the previously retired director of the Anti-Villain League. In *Despicable Me 4*, he comes out of retirement to personally visit the Gru household days after Maxime Le Mal's escape from prison. He informs Gru and his family that the AVL will temporarily relocate them to a safe house in another town under new identities. Silas also takes charge of most of the Minions, selecting five of them to be augmented with superpowers under a new initiative called the Mega Minions. However, after the Mega Minions unintentionally cause significant collateral damage in a nearby city, Silas calls off the initiative. Later, when Lucy signals the AVL during the confrontation with Maxime, Silas calls the Mega Minions out of retirement to stop Maxime. At the film's conclusion, the AVL arrests Maxime and his girlfriend Valentina.

In Their Own Story

Silas Ramsbottom, having come out of retirement, visits the Gru household to inform them that Maxime Le Mal has escaped and that the AVL will have to temporarily relocate the family to a safe house in another town under new identities. Meanwhile, the AVL takes in most of the Minions, and Silas selects five of them to be augmented with superpowers under a new initiative called the Mega Minions. However, the initiative is called off after the group unintentionally causes significant collateral damage in a nearby city. Later, when Lucy signals the AVL during the fight with Übelschlecht, Silas calls the Mega Minions out of retirement to stop Maxime. At the end of the film, the AVL arrests Maxime and Valentina.
